Job Specification

My Client is a leading UK business with a requirement for a Senior Compliance professional to work in a high visibility / high impact role providing hands-on experience developing and implementing an effective compliance framework and provide compliance leadership to identify, assess, advise on and mitigate all compliance risks to the business and subsidiary firms.

Duties and Responsibilities


  • Create and develop Compliance Reporting suite for leadership teams and Board of Directors on the effectiveness of the compliance framework, areas to improve and horizon spotting relevant C developments
  • Determine and implement business-wide policies with respect to key areas of the UK Conduct Regulations and guidelines
  • Help to roll out and implement policies, procedures and processes and provide the necessary guidance and training to achieve a robust culture of compliance.
  • Develop a compliance training program with training for all new employees as well as ongoing training for all employees and managers.


  • Interpret and circulate regulatory updates, draft regulatory responses, write policies and perform legal analysis
  • Take ownership of other legal matters as necessary
  • Be the key point of contact for external audit, regulators, lawyers and solicitors

Ideal Experience

You will have:

  • Recent experience in a Senior / Lead Compliance role within a Financial Services company.
  • Detailed understanding of FCA regulatory system, especially with regards to the Responsible Lending directives and the Consumer Credit Sourcebook (CONC) regulations.
  • Proven track record of implementing a regulatory compliant monitoring programme.
  • Excellent project management and organisational skills.
  • Ability to simplify technical or complex concepts and issues to help communicate solutions effectively at all levels of the business from Sales to Executive Management.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to persuade, influence and build rapport with others and to effectively impart specialist knowledge and build capability in others.
  • Commitment to ensuring standards and controls are established and maintained in the workplace.
